Many, many interviews today and yesterday [...] a highly professional media scrum session that yielded so much outstanding airtime that I'm sure will translate into more public awareness to donate. - Regional Director of health care agency

Heule Communications presents at Toronto Conference on integrating print and online communications.

"Most organizations use their Intranet and Internet sites primarily as service counters, libraries, and news sources," says Nandy Heule, a PR consultant based in the Greater Toronto Area.

“When a site is mostly a library, the biggest issue is not so much how to get people to read this information,” says Ms. Heule. “The biggest issue is how to find the information.”

“When an organization uses a site as a news source, basic principles of news delivery apply and, unfortunately, many online content providers ignore these principles." Click here for more information or if you wish to receive a copy of this presentation.

News Release

Heule Communications presents a talk at a Toronto Conference on developing website content.

Many organizations with massive Intranet sites are discovering their employees use it mostly as a corporate phone book or meeting room planner. “That’s a huge waste of resources,” says Nandy Heule, a PR consultant based in the Greater Toronto Area.

“When the Intranet site functions as a corporate library the biggest issue is not so much how to get people to read this information,” says Ms. Heule. “The biggest issue is how to quickly find the information.” Employees especially like to find phone numbers and emails of colleagues, review HR policies, internal job openings, and corporate policies according to research conducted by various sources.

“When an organization uses the Intranet site as an internal news source, basic principles of news delivery apply,” she says. “The news needs to be timely, relevant to the reader, and relatively objective.”

Based in the GTA, Heule Communications is a public relations firm focused on professional services firms in law and accounting. We also work closely with non-profits in healthcare and international development.
